Experts say they have discovered the Holy Grail. Many wholeheartedly believe its discovery will turn the world up side down. Skeptics say it's a meaningless discovery and the end of a futile quest. The outcome of this debate may rest in your hands, and in what you believe. All sides brace as the discovery of a lifetime is brought to light.
The romantic history of the Holy Grail (otherwise known as the Sangreal) is sketchy at best. Most historians trace its legend all the way back to Jesus Christ. Yet, the often contradictory and unverifiable stories surrounding its history make it almost impossible to trace.
Legend states that King Arthur sat with his Knights of the Round Table one evening when a pure damsel entered the room. The Holy Grail seemed to float above her head as her crown. The vision was so overwhelming that Sir Gawain said, "Therefore, I make a vow, that from tomorrow I shall labour twelve months and a day in quest of the Sangreal, and longer if need be; nor will I come again into this court until mine eyes have seen it evidently." When he had finished speaking knight after knight rose up and vowed himself to the same quest.
King Arthur warned his knights saying, "Many great quests and perilous adventures have ye all taken and achieved, this high quest he only shall attain who hath clean hands and a pure heart, and valour and hardihood beyond all other men."
Fortunately for the Knights of the Round Table, Sir Galahad had recently joined their ranks. He was pure of heart and had clean hands. He was known as "The Good Knight."
Thankfully, the good knight achieved the quest. Otherwise we might still have knights running around to this very day looking under rocks and toadstools. Shortly after it was found, the Holy Grail vanished and has never been seen again – until now!
The Sangrael literally means "Holy Grail" or "Holy Vessel." It was first seen in a vision as the crown upon the head of a pure maiden. It would give eternal life to anyone who possessed it. It is important to note that it could only be gained by one pure in heart and with clean hands. It is important to note that it was an object of such immense importance that the knights left everything to attain it.
Jesus Christ once shared a vision with some men. He told Peter, Andrew, James and John that He would make them fishers of men. "So they pulled their boats up to shore, left everything and followed Him." (Luke 5:11)
The Lord said through Ezekiel to those who would follow Him, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you." (Ezekiel 36:26)
The word of God says to those who have a new heart that we can "…draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:22)
Peter encourages us that "…when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away." (1 Peter 5:4)
God showed Jeremiah who His children are at a potter's shop: "The vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make." (Jeremiah 18:4)
Paul tells us about God's vessels saying, "He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." (Ephesians 1:4)
Here is the history of the Holy Grail that has led to the greatest discovery of your lifetime: If you are in Jesus Christ, you have been called on a quest, left everything, been given a pure heart, cleansed with pure water, and will wear the crown of righteousness. All the necessary qualifications for you to attain the Holy Grail have been met. You are God's vessel made as He saw fit to make and you are holy and without blame before Him.
You are the Holy Grail – the holy vessel of God – and you carry in you the life of Christ who desires to work miraculously through your life. The impact this discovery will have depends on what you believe. Do you believe God is who he says he is? Do you believe you are who God says you are? Will you choose to live as the holy vessel of God today?
Share your discovery with the world!
